About this role
We are seeking a permanent, full-time Senior Mechanical Estimator to join our office team. The position works alongside our senior management and site teams.
The successful candidate will be responsible for estimating and project securement. This includes managing current tender documents, completing take-offs and cost assembly for estimates and contract variations, managing and coordinating with sub-trade and supplier teams and answering questions related to estimates.
Essential duties

Conduct cost estimates for mechanical contracting projects

Identify, manage and mitigate risks

Manage current tender documents

Participate in estimating and project securement processes

Complete quantity take-offs and full cost assembly for estimates and contract variations

Manage and coordinate sub-trade and supplier teams to ensure work is carried out on site in accordance with specifications and construction schedule

Answer questions related to estimates and risk identification, management and mitigation

Assist project managers during pre-construction with cost analysis of items defined in their project's risk register when requested

Assist project managers during construction with reviewing subtrade change orders when requested

Collaborate with and contribute to the Four Lakes team

Additional duties as assigned by company Principals
Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of demonstrable experience in a similar position in the construction industry

Exemplary communication skills (verbal & written) with strong analytic, and mathematic skills

Ability to work efficiently with a service-oriented attitude, courtesy, tact, and diplomacy

Commitment to maintaining mutually respectful relationships

Ability to effectively manage time, responsibilities, and priorities

Ability to problem solve and identify alternative approaches or solutions

Ability to observe, identify and offer input to improve company processes & work systems

Knowledge of AutoCAD and BlueBeam is an asset
-
Knowledge of Procore is an asset
-
Knowledge of Trimble Autobid is an asset

Previous mechanical industry experience (preferred)

Previous experience in a team environment

Computer literate with emphasis on MS Office
-
Access to own transportation (travel is reimbursed)

Monday to Friday from 7am - 4pm
